Taras Shevchenko Monument and Square
District II — Pasarét, Hűvösvölgy
The Taras Shevchenko monument, unveiled on 11 July 2007, stands in a small park on Taras Shevchenko Square (Tarasz Sevcsenko tér) in District II, Buda, next to the Greek Catholic church of St Florian. It is a key gathering point for Budapest’s Ukrainian community, where flowers are laid on Shevchenko days and Ukrainian holidays.
